You don't need eyes to see

'My name is Maxi Jazz and I ain't no joke'.... I'm nearly 52 and I've just discovered the band Faithless. Shame on me!

I put the quote from one of their songs into Google, to see that I'm not the only blogger out there who found the line from their song 'Reverence' fairly profound.

My observation is that we travel through life without vision. We don't have a plan. We wait. We drift. Stuff happens. Many of those events or experiences may be really positive. But without goals, what are we striving for? We aren't driving forward our lives with any purpose. Or vision.

I so regret my response to my other half when asked if I'd like to go and see Faithless at the Brixton Academy last year. I thought the band was just dance stuff, rave. Not my thing. I was wrong. And I didn't expect to be blown away by so many of Maxi Jazz's lyrics as I have been.

Here's the relevant excerpt:

"Money, success and untold wealth, good health
And all you have to do is love yourself
It's a fact you'll attract all the things that you lack
So just chill
And get off the racetrack
And take a pace back, face facts
It's your decision
You don't need eyes to see
You need vision."

Don't be blind to the opportunities in life. Set goals which inspire, motivate and stretch you. Have vision.

And if you want to listen to the whole track, it's right here.
