"There are seven days in a week, and someday isn't one of them."
Sometimes you see a quote and it knocks the wind right out of you. This one did for me. It shouted at me to sort myself out and set some goals.
Any coach will tell you that the goals don't have to be magnificant. They have to be achievable. In fact, the smaller they are in many respects, the more you'll achieve, and the more progress you'll see. You'll be inspired and motivated to start setting some larger ones. And perhaps you'll create a grand vision of what you'd like to see, feel and hear in your life in five years or 10 year's time.
I remember attending a workshop a couple of years ago run by an inspiring sports coach, Donald MacNaughton. He told us a story about exercise bikes and how frequently they are used to drape laundry or clothing over, and never get used. Good intentions and all that. He suggested that the first goal might be to simply remove the laundry from the exercise bike. Because if you set a goal that said cycle for 30 mins every day, you probably wouldn't achieve it, or stick to it for very long.
"The trouble with not having a goal is that you can spend your life running up and down the field and never score." Anon.
Coaching is a great way to help you explore, set and achieve goals. Give me a shout.
