Did you think this post would be about a most excellent song by Pink Floyd? Not quite. However, the song does describe a state of happiness, or numbness, which is comfortable for many. If I'm not feeling any pain, then surely I'm okay?
Abraham Lincoln said: "Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be."
When you made up your mind to be happy, on a scale of 1-10, how happy is that? What would be better than happy?
I read another quote (yes, I read rather a lot of them). It described coaching as the practice of enabling the client to hear what they didn't want to hear, to see what they didn't want to see, to be able to live the life they truly deserved.
Are you satisfied with the level of happiness you chose for yourself, or just comfortably numb?
